Open Invitation

I've started volunteering with a local grass-roots environmental organisation called Transition Edinburgh South.  I'm involved in one of their projects called Remade in Edinburgh which is a brand new community-led initiative to create a reuse and repair centre in South Edinburgh.

The centre will house a series of social enterprises that convert things that would be thrown away into useful objects, training people in new skills, and promoting a zero-waste Edinburgh as an alternative to a culture of cheap disposable items. Yeah, just my kinda thing!

If you are interested to find out more or to get involved, come along to an afternoon meeting on Saturday 29th January 1400-1630 at 5 Forrest Hill, Edinburgh EH1 2QL.  The meeting will outline our plans, there will be some opportunities to fill specific roles in our steering groups, plus lots of other ways to get involved and share your suggestions. Please feel free to turn up on the day, but it would be very helpful if you could RSVP through the email address below.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would let your friends know who might be interested and pass the message along and I'll also keep you up to date with my volunteering adventures and endeavours!

If you can't come to the meeting but are interested in the project, email us at for occasional short news updates.
