One of my friends and fellow Remade in Edinburgh volunteer is a reuse hero.
Cherry Ledlie takes used or unwanted fabrics and textiles and transforms them into wonderfully fantastical costumes for children. Her company The Magic Wardrobe is a reuse haven and best of all, all the profits go to National Childbirth Trust South Edinburgh Branch. As she's told me, the best thing she loves about waste, is someone else's waste is her treasure.
Doesn't it just give you a warm feeling inside?
I bought my niece Stella the most amazingly colourful mermaid costume. We've had trouble taking a picture as she won't keep still, but promise to put one up shortly. In the meantime, below are some of Cherry's other creations.
