Re-posting: Scottish Wildlife Trust

Aquaculture and fisheries

Have your say on aquaculture and fisheries

The Scottish Government is currently consulting on proposals for an Aquaculture & Fisheries Bill. While we think the consultation document contains some encouraging proposals, we need your help to make sure these make it into law and make a difference in practice, not just on paper. You can make all the difference when it comes to persuading the Government to do the right thing for our marine environment.

How to respond to the consultation

We’ve picked out four areas that need your support. If you care about Scotland’s wildlife and would like to see Scotland’s fish farms and salmon fisheries operating in a way that respects the natural environment, we’d like you to put pen to paper today.
A response in your own words will convey more weight than one which is obviously part of a campaign. If you have time, it would greatly improve the chances of success if you can include a few major points in your response. Click here for a list of these points.
If you do not have the time to write your own response, click here for a template letter to print off and sign. You can also email your response using the online form below.

Responses must be received by the Government by 2 March 2012.
