Walk for Whales Update

To all those who kindly sponsored me for Walk for Whales, you might have been wondering what happened with that? Well please see the kind letter below from WDCS on what your sponsorship helped to achieve.

Dear Rea

I would like to say a huge thank you on behalf of everyone at WDCS and SEA  LIFE for your wonderful efforts in raising an amazing £200.85 by Walking for  Whales. I hope that you enjoyed the day; please find your enclosed certificate.

The 64th International Whaling Commission (IWC) meeting was held in Panama  at the beginning of July and thanks to the incredible public pressure generated by  WDCS and our conservation allies all over the world, the ban on commercial  whaling has been upheld. And thanks to WDCS's shocking revelation that the whales killed by Greenlandic whalers (supposedly to feed their native population)  are being served up to tourists in hotels and restaurants meant that Greenland's  request to be allowed to kill more whales was refused. A great example of the important campaigning work that we are able to do thanks to your support!

Once again, thank you for your fantastic support and we look forward to seeing you for Walk for Whales next year.

All the very best
Events & Fundraising Team
and of course a big thanks from me, couldn't have achieved my target without your kind help!
