Re-posting: Grow Wild

Grow Wild is an exciting four-year campaign to bring people together to sow UK native wild flowers. Grow Wild is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and led by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew  and everyone is invited to join in.

The next stage of the Grow Wild campaign is the Grow Wild Scottish Vote which highlights the plans put forward by three shortlisted Scottish sites who are hoping to win £100,000 of Grow Wild funding. Earlier this year, Grow Wild asked people to nominate a site in their community that would benefit from a Grow Wild transformation. They heard from enthusiastic community members who’d actively rallied local people to decide what their community should do with the Grow Wild funding. Youth groups, community associations and residents groups, artists, high school design students, and landscape architects all worked to pull together some really inspirational plans.

They’re asking people now to vote for one of three Scottish sites in the running to receive a £100,000 Grow Wild transformation. But only one site can win, so get behind your community or your favorite site and remember to let your friends and family know too!
The shortlisted Scottish sites are: (click on each site to find out more about what they want to do)

Belville in Greenock
Frog Pond, Dedridge, Livingston, West Lothian
The Water Works, Barrhead, East Renfrewshire

The Scottish site with the most votes will win the £100,000 Grow Wild transformation. Voting runs until midnight on 3 November and the winner will be announced in mid-November.

Over the next few weeks, Grow Wild will be offering readers the chance to meet the people behind the sites and be able vote in person by visiting:
• Oak Mall Shopping Centre, Greenock – Friday 25th, October
• Silverburn Shopping Centre, Glasgow - Saturday, 26th October
• The Centre, Livingston – Saturday, 2nd November
